Make videos with Claude Code, Codex and MCP agents
Give your coding agent an effects engine. AgentFX ships a skill and an MCP server, so Claude Code or Codex can write motion graphics, check them without watching and render every format.
What the agent gets
A catalog of every element, effect and verb with its status, so the agent never uses a feature that does not exist.
Lint with fix hints for overflow, timing, safe areas, flashing and taste problems.
Frames and contact sheets to see the film as images before rendering.
Render to MP4, alpha video, GIF or WebP in every aspect ratio.
Director mode: brief, three style frames, beat list and storyboard as decisions you click in a browser desk, then the first render.
prompt
> Make a 20 second launch clip for our changelog.
Fluid ink reveal of the logo, three feature cards
that drop and pile up, glitch transition, end card.
Cut on the beat of assets/track.mp3. 16:9 and 9:16.
agent: wrote launch.reel (38 lines)
agent: reel lint launch.reel --all-formats -> 0 errors
agent: reel sheet launch.reel --events -> checked 9 frames
agent: reel render launch.reel -> launch-16x9.mp4, launch-9x16.mp4
Effects your agent cannot get from a web page
Coding agents already write HTML and React video. What they lack are simulations, time effects and a fast native renderer. That is what AgentFX adds.
Voronoi fracture for text, logos and shapes, with the pieces driven by the same physics, then rewound back together.
FAQ
Can Claude Code make videos?
Yes. Claude Code writes the AgentFX script, runs lint, looks at preview frames and renders the MP4. With the AgentFX skill and MCP server it knows the effects catalog and the checks.
Does it work with Codex and other agents?
Yes. Anything that can write a file and run a command works. MCP clients get the tools directly.
Do I need to learn the script format?
No. You describe the film in words; the agent writes and fixes the script. The format is readable, so you can still change a line yourself.
Put an effects engine in your agent's hands.
AgentFX is open source under Apache 2.0. Clone it, build it, give the skill to your agent. Questions, ideas and effect requests are welcome on GitHub.
